How much do you charge?
I don't have a standard rate. It mainly depends on how long it will take me to create what you need, and what you want to use the image for. Phone or e-mail me for a quote.

Is the artwork mine to keep?
The artwork is a separate item from the license giving you the right to reproduce it. If I send you the original artwork, I normally expect it back.

Can I buy any of the artwork on this site?
I don't normally sell my artwork as such, as the collage work is generally fragile and bits might fall off in transit. Some of the artwork is available for publication though. Phone or e-mail me to find out about the piece you are interested in.

If I commission artwork, does that mean I own the copyright?
I don't normally sell the copyright to my work. What you will get is a licence to reproduce the work. This specifies the type of publication, length of time and geographical area that you require. If you really feel you need the copyright, we can negotiate that, but it will be a lot more expensive.

How long does it take you to complete a piece of work.
It varies with the complexity of the piece. My technique is quite slow, as I have to keep waiting for glue to dry. I would need a fortnight from start to finish for one of the most complex images on this site, on the other hand a flat collage or very simple image could be ready in two days.

Can you work in any other style?
Yes I can work in lots of different styles – look in the 'Other Styles' link on the portfolio page. Or look at the West of Wales Illustrators website to see if other members of the group have a style that suits your needs.

How do you deliver artwork?
3D work doesn't travel well, and collage won't fit around a drum scanner without bits popping off. I usually scan on a flatbed scanner, or for large work, I get a high resolution digital photo taken by a local reprographics firm. I then send you the artwork either by e-mail or on a CD

How do order an illustration?
First we have a detailed discussion to make sure that I know exactly what you need. Then I will send you pencil roughs outlining what I am planning. At this stage you give me the go-ahead to produce the final artwork, or you can ask me to make changes first.
Phone or e-mail me to start the process. . .
